-Today we take a look at The Bash 2009 from the WWE.

-The Bash 2009 took place on PPV on June 28, 2009 from the Arco Arena in Sacramento, California. There were 11,946 in attendance and the show did 178,000 buys.

-Intro. Michael Cole welcomes us to the Bash. He and Jerry Lawler will call the Raw matches.

-Scramble Match for the ECW Championship. Matt Striker and Josh Matthews will call the match, and they go over the rules. The wrestler with the last pin or submission when time ends will be the champion. Christian vs. Jack Swagger: These two start the scramble. They lock up and vie for position. Swagger with the early advantage. They trade blows. Swagger with a power slam for a two count. Swagger with a submission. Swagger pushes off a DDT attempt. Christian with a sleeper. Swagger comes back with a takedown and a front face lock. Swagger puts Christian on the top rope, but Christian comes back with a shot and a missile dropkick for a two count. Christian with a corner kick as Finlay comes down as the next competitor. He is intense. He takes out Swagger and Christian. He knocks Swagger outside and gets a two count on Christian. Swagger pulls Christian out and throws him on the barricade. Swagger throws Finlay in, pokes his eye, and gets the pin on Finlay. Christian gets a sunset flip for a two count. Christian hits a Death Drop for a two count. Tommy Dreamer comes in. He bulldogs Swagger. He sunset flips Christian to get a two count. Running slide to Christian. Swagger throws Dreamer out. Finlay gets back in and hits the Celtic Cross to pin Swagger. Dreamer with a running back elbow to Finlay. Swagger clotheslines Dreamer. Mark Henry comes in. Christian and Swagger were on the top rope fighting, and Henry throws them both on Dreamer. Henry clears the ring. World's Strongest Slam to get the pin on Dreamer. Finlay, Christian, and Swagger triple team Henry to get him down. It goes outside. Swagger clips Henry's knee and hits a Swagger Bomb to pin Henry. Henry guillotines Swagger on the second rope. Christian hits the Kill Switch on Swagger. Dreamer hits Christian with a DDT to pin Christian. A lot of saves on pin attempts. Dreamer DDTS Henry. Time expires and Dreamer is still ECW Champion. He gets presented with the title belt. They replay what happened. He celebrates with the crowd.

-Teddy Long is interrupted by Edge. He tells Long he should make the match for the title a Triple Threat. Long is having none of it.

-Intercontinental Championship Match. Title vs. Mask. Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho: Mysterio out first. Jim Ross and Todd Grisham talk about how the match came about. Jericho out looking determined. He mimes taking Mysterio's Mask off. The belt is presented. The bell rings, and they just stare at each other. Jericho goes after the mask, and Mysterio fights him off. Jericho with a shoulder breaker. Mysterio with a headscissors to drive Jericho outside. He goes to baseball slide Jericho, who grabs Mysterio's leg and whips him into the barricade. Mysterio gets in at 8. Jericho keeps the assault up. He gets a suplex for a two count. Jericho puts Mysterio on the top rope and beats on Mysterio. Mysterio pushes Jericho off and hits a seated senton, but Jericho comes back with a backbreaker. He gets a close two count. He chokes Mysterio with his foot in the corner. He baseball slides Mysterio out. Back and forth. Jericho gets a two count. Jericho with a double arm submission. Mysterio fights back. He drop toe holds Jericho out and hits a top rope senton. He gets Jericho in and hits a crossbody for a two count. He drives Jericho into a turnbuckle and hits two springboards and a moonsault for a close two count. Mysterio with another springboard, but Jericho catches him and hits a power slam for a two count. Jericho misses a corner charge when Mysterio moves. Mysterio with a moonsault for a close two count. Jericho gets the Walls of Jericho on. Mysterio fights and gets to the ropes. They trade blows. They fight on a turnbuckle. Jericho with a running powerbomb and puts his feet on the ropes and still only gets a two count. Jericho with a Lionsault, but misses and Mysterio with a roll up for a two count. Jericho suckers Mysterio in and gets an airplane spin that Mysterio counters into a DDT. Mysterio with a springboard that Jericho counters with a Code Breaker for a close two count. Jericho with Snake Eyes. He puts Mysterio on the top rope. Mysterio pushes Jericho off. He gets a senton and the 619. Jericho counters the West Coast Pop into the Walls of Jericho. Mysterio fights out and they trade covers. Jericho snatches the mask off, but Msyterio has a second one on and gets the pin to become the new IC Champion. Mysterio celebrates as Jericho looks shocked.

-Flashback to Donald Trump "owning" Raw and Vince McMahon buying it back. They then shown Vince McMahon making the 3 Stages of Hell match between HHH and Randy Orton.

-Chris Jericho complains to Teddy Long that he was robbed and wants his rematch. Long throws Jericho out of his office.

-A Dolph Ziggler vignette and highlights of him wrestling and taking on The Great Khali. The Great Khali with Ranjin Singh vs. Dolph Ziggler: No DQ or count out match. Khali and Singh out first. Ziggler out looking cool, calm, and collected. The bell rings and Khali throws Ziggler around. Ziggler attacks and bites Khali, who responds by throwing Ziggler around. Khali manhandles Ziggler. Khali goes to chop Ziggler, who moves, and Khali hits the ring post. Khali comes back and chops Ziggler again. Ziggler grabs a chair and Khali fights him off. Ziggler gets him down and hits a leg drop for a one count. Ziggler gets a front face lock on. Khali tries to come back. He attacks Ziggler. Then, pyro goes off and Kane comes out. He attacks Khali. He beats Khali down with the chair. The crowd boos. Ziggler covers and gets the pin. They replay what happened. Ziggler brags that he is the smartest man alive.

-Vince McMahon comes and apologizes to Teddy Long. He then puts down Long and says he hasn't accomplished anything. He tells Long that he is still on probation.

-Unified Tag Team Championship Match. Carlito and Primo Colon vs. Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase: The belts are presented. Teddy Long comes out and says it will now be a triple threat match. Edge and Chris Jericho then come out. Both of the other teams are upset and dump Jericho and Edge out. The bell rings. DiBiase and Carlito start. Carlito with the early advantage. Primo tagged in and got a two count. Jericho tagged in. Rhodes tags him out and attacks Primo, and Jericho is upset. DiBiase tagged in and keeps up the attack on Primo. Primo comes back and gets a two count on DiBiase. Carlito in and also gets a two count. Carlito with a sleeper. DiBiase comes back and unloads on everyone. Legacy unloads on Primo. Rhodes gets Primo down. Primo comes back. Edge tags in, but gets tagged out by DiBiase. He gets a two count on Primo. Rhodes with a dropkick to Primo for a two count. Rhodes with a chin lock. Primo comes back with a roll up for a two count. Rhodes with an over the back double backbreaker. Edge breaks it up. DiBiase tagged in. Primo backdrops him out. Carlito and Rhodes tagged in. Carlito unloads on Rhodes. He gets a cover, but DiBiase breaks up the pin. Jericho comes in and hits Primo with the Code Breaker. Carlito throws Jericho out. Edge looks to tag in off of Rhodes, but Carlito knocks him down and grabs Rhodes. As he does, Edge tags Rhodes to become legal. Carlito hits the Backstabber and covers Rhodes, but he's not the legal man. Edge Spears Carlito to win, and he and Jericho are the new Champions. He and Jericho grab the titles and hold them high as they leave.

-Orton tells Legacy not to worry about what happened. They need to help him retain his title against HHH. DiBiase goes off on Orton, saying he doesn't give a damn about them. He leaves. Rhodes goes and tries to calm him down.

-WWE Women's Championship Match. Melina vs. Michelle McCool with Alicia Fox: McCool out to no reaction. The bell rings, and they lock up. Melina with the early advantage. Melina with a DDT. She follows it up with a backdrop. She gets a one count. McCool comes back with a dropkick. She works on Melina's leg. She keeps the attack up. She wraps the leg up in the ropes for a two count. She slams the leg on the ring steps several times. She gets a one count. McCool with a unique submission. Sort of an inverted backbreaker Camel Clutch Single Crab. Melina breaks out. Melina with a back elbow. Back and forth. McCool clips Melina's knee. Melina headscissors out of a hold for a two count. McCool comes back with a two count. Melina with a face buster, but Fox puts McCool's leg on the ropes. Melina pushes Fox down, and the crowd comes to life for the first time in the match. McCool with a big kick for a two count. McCool hits the fake breaker to get the pin and become the new Women's Champion. She celebrates.

-Don't try this at home ad.

-Todd Grisham and JR preview the Smackdown Main Event. World Heavyweight Championship Match. CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy: Punk out first, and I still don't approve of the champion coming out first. He gets a decidedly mixed reaction. Hardy comes out with no face paint on. He is walking and looking deliberate in his actions and intent. He gets a great reception. The introductions are made and the belt is presented. A huge Hardy chant goes out. The bell rings. Dueling chants. They circle each other. They lock up and drive to a corner and break. Hardy gets a side headlock on. Punk reverses. Hardy pushes off, and Punk responds with a shoulder block. They trade holds and counters. Hardy goes back to the side headlock. Punk struggles to get out and gets a side headlock takeover. Hardy up and Punk with another shoulder block. Punk goes for the GTS, and Hardy counters with a crucifix for a two count. Punk pushes off a Twist of Fate Attempt. Hardy backdrops Punk out. Hardy with a plancha to Punk. Hardy throws Punk into the barricade. Hardy with a running leg dive to Punk, who moves, and Hardy hits the barricade. Hardy gets in on the 9 count. Punk attacks Hardy with elbows and gets a two count. Punk gets a backbreaker for a two count. Punk with a leg vice. Hardy fights to get out. He gets a foot on the ropes. Punk with a slam. He goes for a second rope leg drop and misses when Hardy moves. Punk misses a corner charge, and Hardy hits a Whisper in the Wind. He gets a two count. Hardy with some clotheslines. A series of kicks and leg drops for a two count. Hardy with a face first suplex. He goes up top, but Punk rolls out to regroup. Hardy hits a clothesline off the apron. Hardy dropkicks Punk into a corner and goes for a corner knee drop. Punk catches him and goes for the GTS. Hardy holds on to the ropes. Punk with a roundhouse kick and a running knee and a bulldog. He gets a close two count. Punk with kicks to Hardy. Hardy counters with a Twist of Fate. Punk moves on a Swanton Bomb attempt. Punk signals the GTS. Hardy counters with an inside cradle for a two count. Hardy counters another GTS attempt with a Twist of Fate. He hits the Swanton. He pins Punk, who had his foot under the ropes. The referee waves off the pin when he sees the foot. He explains to Hardy what happened. The crowd boos. They chant Hardy. They restart the match, and both men fight out of covers. Punk goes down and holds his eye. He then kicks referee Scott Armstrong to get disqualified. Punk is still holding his eye. The crowd boos. Punk gets the title. Hardy looks dejected. Punk leaves with the title. Hardy confronts him in the aisle. He attacks Punk and then throws him in. Hardy attacks Punk. The crowd cheers Hardy. Referees pull him off Punk. He breaks loose again. Punk is still holding his eye. The crowd boos again as a referee helps Punk to the back. Punk picks up his title on the way. Hardy looks dejected again as he leaves.

-Teddy Long is confronted by the Colons. He explained that he did the right thing about their match. Randy Orton is then shown calling Cody Rhodes and leaving a message asking where they are at. They show the Block Party that took place earlier.

-Flashback to what led to the next match. John Cena vs. The Miz: Miz out first. He looks determined. The crowd goes wild when Cena's music hits and he comes out. He looks ready for competition. The bell rings and Cena with some takedowns. Cena with another takedown and he stomps Miz's hand. Cena with a side headlock takeover. Cena with a shoulder block and another side headlock takeover. They drive to a corner and break. Cena with a hip toss. Miz lures Cena in and reverse guillotines him on the top rope. Miz beats Cena down in a corner. Miz with a corner clothesline. He hits a top rope double ax handle for a two count. He suplexes Cena and gets a two count. Miz with a clothesline for a two count. Miz baseball slides into Cena, driving him out of the ring. He gets Cena back in and gets a two count. Back and forth. Cena with a shoulder block and a slam. U Can't See Me. 5 Knuckle Shuffle. AA to Miz. Cena puts the STF on and Miz taps out. The crowd cheers.

-Flashback to what led to the Main Event. 3 Stages of Hell Match for the WWE Championship. Randy Orton vs. HHH: Orton out first. He takes his time coming to the ring, and he seems a little unsure of himself. He gets no reaction. HHH's music finally hits, and he gets a tremendous reaction when he comes out. He does his usual water spit entrance. Orton had rolled out and HHH stares at him from a top turnbuckle. The introductions are made and the belt is presented. 1st match: Traditional match. The bell rings and they trade blows. HHH with the early advantage. He beats Orton down in a corner. Orton gets his boot up on a corner charge. Back and forth. Orton suplexed in from the apron for a two count. Orton clips HHH's leg when HHH goes for a Pedigree. He bashes the leg on a ring post. He beats HHH down in a corner. He keeps the attack up on HHH's taped leg. HHH avoids an RKO and hits a spinebuster. Orton with the over the back backbreaker. HHH falls outside. HHH grabs a chair and hits Orton with it to get disqualified. 2nd Fall: Falls Count Anywhere. HHH hits Orton again and beats Orton down with it. Orton goes out to regroup and falls to the ground. HHH goes out and hits a Pedigree to pin Orton. 3rd Fall. Stretcher Match: HHH tries to put Orton on the stretcher. He does and starts to push it up the ramp. He gets it up. Before he can push Orton over the line, Orton gets up and kicks the stretcher into HHH. Orton clips the leg again and then the stretcher hits HHH. They trade shots. HHH dropped on the barricade. They battle out into the crowd. Orton with some brutal shots to HHH. A Triple H chant goes out. HHH comes back and clotheslines Orton to ringside. Orton exposes a barricade and drop toe holds HHH into it. He drops HHH on it two times. Orton puts HHH on the stretcher, but he fights off. Back and forth. Orton grabs the ring steps and HHH drop toe hold Orton into the steps. He then hits Orton with the steps again. He drags Orton over and puts him on the stretcher. Orton revives and kicks HHH, who jumps on Orton and they roll back down the ramp. They both fall, but Orton seems hurt. Orton slams HHH into the stretcher. He does a draping DDT to HHH off the stretcher. HHH avoids a punt and Orton hits the stretcher. Orton backdrops out of a Pedigree attempt, and HHH lands on the stretcher. Orton struggles to his feet. He pushes the stretcher up, but HHH rolls off. They trade shots. Orton goes into his viper routine. HHH counters an RKO attempt and hits a Pedigree. HHH struggles to get Orton on the stretcher. He does, but Cody Rhodes shows up and blocks the stretcher and attacks HHH. HHH runs Rhodes into the video wall. DiBiase then attacks HHH and turns the stretcher over. Rhodes and DiBiase grab HHH and put him on the stretcher. HHH fights back. They beat HHH down. HHH opens a panel and grabs a sledgehammer and attacks DiBiase and Rhodes. Orton takes advantage. He grabs a section of the stage and hits HHH. HHH falls across the stretcher and Orton pushes him across the line to win. Orton grabs the title and referee Mike Chioda raises his hand. He raises the belt. HHH grabs the sledgehammer and attacks Orton. He knocks Orton out. He throws the sledgehammer down and leaves. Chioda checks on Orton. HHH does the suck it gesture to Orton. They recap the match as referees come out to check on Orton and they sign off from Sacramento.

-Final Thoughts: A good show that sets up the summer for the WWE.
