-Today we take a look at NXT Takeover R-Evolution.
-NXT Takeover R-Evolution was shown on the WWE Network on December 11, 2014 from Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL. There were 400+ in attendance.
-Intro featuring the NXT wrestlers. This was well done.
-Kevin Owens comes out as Rich Brennan, Alex Riley, and Corey Graves welcome us to Takeover.
-Kevin Owens vs. CJ Parker: Owens attacks Parker right away. He hits a cannonball. Owens tears up Parker's sign and hits a suicide dive on Parker on the outside. A holy shit chant goes out. Owens chops Parker in the corner. Parker comes back with a spin kick. He follows it up with some punches. He misses a splash when Owens moves. Parker with a palm strike for a two count. They trade moves. Owens with a Tiger Driver and a pop up powerbomb to get the pin. Owen's had his nose busted open.
-Adrian Neville is shown backstage. They show highlights of Neville talking about his match coming up with Sami Zayn.
-A feature on the Lucha Dragons.
-NXT Tag Team Championship Match. The Lucha Dragons Kalisto and Sin Cara vs. The Vaudevillians Aiden English and Simon Gotch: Sin Cara and Gotch start. They trade moves. Kalisto tagged in. He gets Gotch down for a two count. Sin Cara in and hits a powerbomb for a two count. English pulls Sin Cara out of the ring after tagging in. He gets a one count. English with a nerve hold. Gotch tagged in. He gets a headlock on Sin Cara. English tagged in and got a double chop. English with a roll up, and it's too close to the ropes, so Sin Cara falls out and they brawl on the outside. Double team to Sin Cara. Gotch tagged in. Sin Cara tries for a tag. English tagged in. Vaudevillians doing some good quick tagging. Kalisto tagged in and cleans house. Vaudevillians thrown outside. Suicide dive onto English by the Lucha Dragons. Kalisto hits a Salita Del Sol on Gotch to get the pin.
-Sasha Banks is shown getting ready in the back.
-NXT commercial.
-Tye Dillinger vs. Baron Corbin: Dillinger attacks Corbin. Corbin with a big boot and Snake Eyes into the End of Days to get the pin.
-Sami Zayn is shown in the back as they show an interview with him saying he wants to win the NXT title.
-Flashback to what led to the next match. The Ascension Konnor and Viktor vs. Finn Balor and Hideo Itami: Itami and Balor get a respectable ovation when they come out. Balor has the bigger ovation as he comes out in his Demon persona. All four start to brawl in the ring. Faces beat the heels down in opposite corners. They trade corner dropkicks. The Ascension go to the floor to regroup. Itami and Viktor start. Viktor beat down. Balor tagged in. He chops Viktor in the corner for a two count. Viktor with a knee lift. Konnor tagged in. Back and forth. Itami tagged in. He attacks with kicks. Konnor with a flapjack for a two count. Viktor tagged in and got an uppercut for a two count. Back and forth. Itami beat down. He tries to fight out of the heels corner. Viktor with a headlock. They trade forearms. Viktor gets a two count. He can't keep Itami down. Viktor with a rear chin lock. Konnor tagged in and gets a two count. Itami beat down. Viktor back in and goes back to the chin lock. Itami fighting for the tag. He moves on a corner charge. Ascension knocked Balor off the apron and drag Itami to their corner. Itami comes back. Balor tagged in. He cleans house. He hits an enziguri on Viktor and hits a tope on the Ascension. Balor with a brain buster suplex for a two count. Viktor hits an STO, but Itami breaks up the pin. Konnor throws Itami out of the ring. Balor hits Viktor with a Pele kick. Itami and Balor with Double diving foot stomps, and Balor pins Viktor.
-The Announcers talk about what we just saw.
-Renee Young talks to Roman Reigns about being the WWE Superstar of the year and his plan to be the WWE Champion.
-Ric Flair is shown talking to his Daughter Charlotte in the back. We then get a feature on Charlotte and Sasha Banks.
-NXT Women's Championship Match. Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks: Banks out first. Charlotte out to a mixed reaction. Charles Robinson is the referee. Dueling chants go out. They go back and forth. Charlotte with a takedown. Charlotte runs Banks into a corner. Banks chops Charlotte. They then chop each other. Charlotte beats Banks down in the corner. It goes outside, and Banks runs Charlotte into the ring steps. She throws Charlotte in. Charlotte chops Banks. They get to the ropes and break. Banks with double knees to Charlotte. Banks with a takedown and she mocks Charlotte, who responds with a roll up for a two count. They trade moves. Banks with the Bankrupted. Banks with a two count. Banks with the figure four headlock. Charlotte gets up and hits the Electric Chair. A double count going. Both up and trading shots. Charlotte hits a neck breaker for a two count. Banks throws Charlotte outside and hits a suicide dive onto Charlotte. She throws Charlotte in and gets a two count. Charlotte with a spear. Banks trips Charlotte in the corner. Charlotte goes for the figure four, only to get rolled up by Banks for a two count. A neck breaker gets a two count for Banks. She can't get the pin, though. Charlotte with a throw and a moonsault, but Banks moves. Charlotte lands on her feet and hits a splash to Banks. She covers Banks, but Banks gets her foot on the ropes. Banks forces Charlotte into the turnbuckle. Charlotte blocks a superplex attempt and slams Banks off and hits Natural Selection off the top rope to get the pin. Charlotte celebrates in the ring.
-Flashback to what led to the main event.
-NXT Championship Match. Adrian Neville vs. Sami Zayn: Zayn out to a tremendous ovation. Neville out looking determined. Zayn just stares at Neville in the corner. A Sami chant goes out. The belt is presented. The bell rings. They stare at each other. They circle each other. Neville with a takedown. They trade holds. Neville with a wrist lock. Back to trading moves. Neville with a wrist lock/headlock combo. Into a top wrist lock. Arm bar suplex to Zayn. Zayn gets out. Neville goes back to the arm bar. Zayn with a tilt a whirl backbreaker. Neville rolls out and Zayn hits a tope on Neville. Zayn with an enziguri for a two count. A roll up gets another two count. Neville runs Zayn into a turnbuckle. A dropkick gets Neville a two count. Neville with a chin lock. Neville with an uppercut for a two count. Neville with a chin lock. Neville with a top rope dropkick for a two count. Back and forth. Zayn with a dropkick. Neville rolls out. He comes back with a headscissors takedown. They trade high-flying moves. Zayn with a suicide dive to Neville. He hits a crossbody for a two count. Zayn with a tilt a whirl powerbomb for a two count. Neville with a running uppercut and a German Suplex for a two count. Neville with a sit out powerbomb for a two count. Zayn with a running clothesline. He goes for the Helluva kick, but gets cut off by Neville. Zayn gets his legs up on a Red Arrow and gets the Koji Clutch on Neville. Neville gets to the ropes. Neville rolls Zayn up for a two count. Zayn kicks out and pushes Neville into the referee. Zayn checks on the referee, allowing Neville to hit a super kick and a reverse Frankensteiner for a two count. Back and forth. Zayn with a series of German suplexes. Neville rolls out before Zayn hits the Helluva kick. Zayn with a diving DDT on Neville. Zayn with a Helluva kick to Neville, but Neville pulls the referee in as well. Zayn checks on the referee. Neville grabs the NXT Championship and brings it in, only to get met with a big kick by Zayn. Zayn picks up the Championship. The fans beg him not to hit Neville with the belt. He goes to throw it out and gets rolled up by Neville for a two count. Zayn hits an Exploder suplex on Neville. He hits the Helluva kick to get the pin and become the new NXT Champion. Zayn and the crowd celebrate. He is overcome with emotion. He holds the belt high. They replay the highlights of the match as the locker room empties to congratulate Zayn. They lift Zayn up. Neville gets up, and he and Zayn face each other. Neville hugs Zayn and holds his hand high. As they sign off from Full Sail, Kevin Owens attacks Zayn on the ramp. He powerbombs Zayn on the apron. William Regal asks Owens what he is doing. Owens leaves as Regal and the referee check on Zayn.
-Final Thoughts: A really good show with a shocking ending.
